Sometimes you find yourself  in a funk.  You try to snap out of it, but it is often difficult.  Then, when  you least expect it, you come across someone or something that brings a smile to your heart .  You're ready to move on.

I came across the picture of the little girl above whom I named 'Bella'.  She seemed so alive and vibrant and charmingly endearing.   I was captivated by the sweet little face that said:  "I'm on to you.  Go ahead and try me for size!"

Bella has (as do most children) a powerful innocence that can be quite unnerving and difficult to ignore.  She will tug at your heart and win the argument without even trying.  Her purity of spirit derives from her trust in life and those she loves.   But don't try to con her.  She'll see right through you.

We can learn a lesson from Bella.  It is important to maintain trust and compassion towards others - especially ourselves.  It is equally important to trust life and the purpose it holds for each one of us.  We must not allow ourselves  to become embittered or defeated.  When people or circumstances back us into a corner  - instead of becoming overwhelmed - strike a confident pose and announce to all concerned  that you are ready for whatever it is that may be coming your way.   Often, (although forgotten), you have dealt with similar situations and handled them quite well.

"Rhetoric" . . . you think.

If you are experiencing a great deal of pain and do not think you have the energy to try again -  try this. Go to a mirror, look yourself straight in the eyes and say out loud:  "I want to live!"   Try it.  Connect with the love you feel for yourself and your life.  Take a frequent look at your thoughts, feelings, and activities.  Are they positive or self-destructive?   Let go of the negativity.

And then say:  "I wish to change my life.  I wish to be happy and productive.  I wish to be out of this funk!"
