The reasons why a woman decides she is going to have a baby will actually influence the future psychology of the child. Life experience begins in the womb. By the age of two months after conception, there is a rudimentary brain forming in the embryo - a rudimentary brain that is able to register experience. Even in the womb some of our inborn patterns and archetypal expectations are already being activated, fleshed and set into motion as we register certain things that our mothers are going through. What can the chart reveal about our pre-natal experience? Archetypes express themselves through drives, and different drives are foreground at various stages of life. (Remember - An archetype can be defined as a mental representation of an instinct). The archetype activated during the intra-uterine phase is Unity - the drive to be one with everything. Ideally we have a sense of oceanic totality in the womb; a sense of oneness with the rest of life. The Jungians call this uroboric wholeness as there is no separation - it's pre-time and pre-boundaries. To assess how we experienced life in the womb, we would look at what is going on in the 12th house (individual's own natal chart). What is in the 12th - (planets, sign on the cusp and its aspects) will give clues about what our tiny rudimentary brain is registering via the umbilical connection to the mother. Also examine Neptune and how it is aspected. Saturn square Neptune may associate pain, difficulty and restriction (Saturn) with the archetype of unity (Neptune). Issues later in life to do with various forms of mystical experiences (the sense of being at one with the rest of creation) will also resonate with this placement. The nature of your image of mother, the more exact kind of mother you are anticipating is shown by your sign placement of the Moon and what aspects are made to it. So we register things via the mother. The 12th house indicates what the mother is going through while she is pregnant and what we experience through the umbilical called the umbilical effect. Saturn in the 12th is may indicate the mother is experiencing depression, restriction, confinement, etc. Or, she may not have wanted the pregnancy as it interfered with her plans. The child had a difficult time in the womb and is then born with the belief that life is not on his side, although nothing has happened to him to substantiate this. Uranus in the 12th can indicate something unexpected or disruptive happened to the mother or the family while the child was in the womb - the marriage breaks up, the family is forced to change homes - something significant happens which brings change. The child will then experience difficulty to easily settle into anything or start something new because he feels and fears that something is going to happen that is disruptive. Another way to track back pre-natal experience is to analyze separating aspects of the Moon. By using a form of converse progression on separating aspects of the Moon, you can pinpoint what month during pregnancy that certain archetypes were constellated in the fetus' rudimentary awareness. The mother's heartbeat has a profound effect on the fetus. Stress increases the mother's heart rate which increases the fetus' heart rate. The fetus can actually hear the mother's heartbeat and if it is irregular, it is not very reassuring for the embryo. So the person does not feel very assured about life even while in the womb! A mother who is stroked and loved during pregnancy produces a baby with a greater chance of survival. Perhaps a nicely aspected Venus, Jupiter or Neptune. Astrological consultations available
