Do you see yourself as a happy or unhappy person?  If your image of yourself is unhappy, or if you would like to be happier, this visualization can help you make room for happiness.
Imagine that you are walking down a long path that has doors on either side; each door is marked with a special gift.  You are looking for the door that is marked "Happiness".  When you finally reach it, the door is closed.  Stand in front of the door for a few moments and take a couple of slow, deep breaths to relax.  Turn the knob.  Does it turn or is it locked?  If it is locked, reach into your pocket, pull out the key to happiness, and open the door.

Is the room bright or dark?  If it is dark, reach for the light switch next to the door, and flip it on.  How large is the room?  Is it the size of a broom closet full of dirty rags and dusty dreams?  Expand the size of the room to make room for happiness - and lots of it.  C'mon - try it.  You might like it.  Indulge yourself.  You have nothing to lose but unhappiness.

How is the room furnished?  Is it cozy or spartan?  Make it comfortable.  Picture a thick rug on the floor in your favorite bright color.  Then, a sofa you can stretch out on.  Some lush green growing plants, a fireplace for those chilly days and nights, a stereo to play your favorite music.  Fill the room with whatever makes you happy.  Are you starting to get the idea?

Now, what color are the walls?  See them painted a clear, soothing color.  What's hanging on the walls?  Black and white photos of you looking glum and depressed?  Take every unhappy picture off the walls and break them over you knee and throw them into a garbage can.

This visualization continues until you have customized your room for happiness.  And, as you may have already guessed, a similar application can be done for Love, Recognition, Success, etc.  If you would like to purchase a tape of this exercise - please advise:
