Date of this post:  APRIL 29 2019

On April 26th, I sent an email to KDP alerting them that I no longer wished to publish my novel -  'In Search of Love'.  I was very clear about the reasons for my decision. I then uploaded my web file - 'getting rid of the scam' on 4/27/19 to advise anyone who may be interested as to why I had made this decision. When I checked my email account on that same day - 4/27 -  I had received the following email from KDP:

Congratulations, the paperback edition of your book "In Search Of Love" is live in the Amazon Store. It is available* for readers to purchase here. If you have republished your book, your changes are now live. *Some marketplaces may take 3-5 business days to show your paperback as in stock. Please note that your paperback’s product description may take 24-48 hours to appear on its Amazon detail page and links to its Kindle eBook version may take up to 48 hours. If you are resubmitting your content file or updating your book details, the changes should display within the next 24-48 hours.

Thank you for publishing with Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP).
Best regards, The Kindle Direct Publishing Team

The email conformed to their usual M.O. of sending a client 'double messages'. I then replied with the following email:

Cute. Real cute. You've been screwing around with me and my efforts to publish this novel for six months.  Well, I'm tired of you and the game you obviously enjoy playing. I have decided not to publish with KDP  for all the reasons I have voiced in my emails.  It's not clear if anyone really reads their content however, as I specifically stated in my last email:

"MY INITIAL GUT REACTION TO DECLINE DOING BUSINESS WITH YOUR ORGANIZATION WAS CORRECT.  I CANNOT DEAL WITH YOUR LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM, INADEQUATE PEOPLE SKILLS, & LACK OF RESPECT.  REMOVE MY NOVEL - 'IN SEARCH OF LOVE' - FROM YOUR FILES.  I DO NOT WISH TO PUBLISH WITH KDP.  YOU DON'T DESERVE MY PUBLICATIONS AND STANDARDS."  4/25/19 CAROL A. REIMER

Did you not understand? Do not release this book for publishing.

Today, April 29th, I received the following message:

Hello Carol,
My name is David, I'm a Customer Service Supervisor at Amazon KDP. Thanks for writing to us and I am sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. The review team will review the book every time when the book is being published/republished. If they find the content is freely available in the website, they will approach any authors/publishers to clarify/confirm the rights to the content as we expect every author to hold copyright for the content. As such, they have approached you for your paperback title - “In Search of Love”.
If you think you hold the rights, you can simply republish your book which you have done in this case and hence your book is now republished and available for sale in the website.
In this case, if you still would want to remove the book from sale, you can unpublish the book from your end. The steps to unpublish are given in the below link :
I appreciate your understanding and thanks for using Amazon KDP.

I omitted the link for security reasons.  I haven't a clue as to what he's talking about -
publish - republish?????.

MY RESPONSE:

To David:
After receiving your email, I went to 'Bookshelf' and activated the 'do not publish option'.  I did not understand the text stating the book could continue to be published by 'third parties'.  Kindly explain.

I will post his response upon receiving his explanation.
